Volleyball

Volleyball is a team sport in which two teams, typically consisting of six players each, are separated by a net and attempt to score points by hitting a ball over the net onto the opponent’s court. The objective is to ground the ball in the opposing team’s playing area while preventing the same from happening on one’s own side. The game is played in a series of rallies, with teams allowed a limited number of touches to return the ball to the other side. Points are scored when the opposing team fails to return the ball, commits a fault, or hits the ball out of bounds. Volleyball can be played indoors on a hard court or outdoors on sand, and there are variations like beach volleyball and sitting volleyball. The sport emphasizes teamwork, communication, and strategic play, and it requires skills such as serving, passing, setting, attacking, and blocking. Volleyball is governed by the Fédération Internationale de Volleyball (FIVB) at the international level.
