Volleyball

Volleyball is a team sport in which two teams, usually composed of six players each, are separated by a high net. The objective of the game is to score points by hitting a ball over the net and into the opposing team’s court, while preventing the ball from touching the ground on their own side. Points can be scored in various ways, including serving the ball to the opponents and ensuring they cannot return it successfully.

The game involves a combination of skills, including serving, passing, setting, hitting, and blocking. Volleyball can be played indoors or on a beach, and variations of the sport exist, such as beach volleyball and sitting volleyball. The sport is governed by the Fédération Internationale de Volleyball (FIVB) at an international level and is played both recreationally and competitively, including in the Olympic Games. The standard volleyball court measures 18 meters long and 9 meters wide, with a net height of approximately 2.43 meters for men’s competition and 2.24 meters for women’s competition.
